Is this Mr Lee?

This is an odd one - a carte de visite by a Danish photographer that has an English name and address on the reverse. A search for anyone with that name on census returns for that area drew a blank, but I did find out that Stroat House still exists and it's a Grade II listed building.

That is interesting. The Second Schleswig War was 1864 and Denmark lost provinces to Prussia. And in 1863 Princess Alexandra of Denmark married the Prince of Wales, the future Edward VII. So if the photo is about 1866 there would be a political connection that might explain it.

The Danish royal family was much more casual and free than Queen Victoria's court. Her family took many holidays there to relax out of the spotlight.
