Workers

This is the nearest image I've got to this week's Sepia Saturday theme of overalls and working clothes.
These chaps are definitely wearing work clothes and work boots; the chap in the centre looks to be clad in a pair of overalls under his jacket. There's no information on the postcard so we can only speculate where and who they were in real life.

More of this week's entries over at Sepia Saturday.

Hmm, the gentleman in the center looks like he's wearing a tie with his overalls. Now that's interesting!

Perhaps these blokes are in charge, hence the ties.

It's a fine photo, that's for sure. I think those hands on the fellow on the left really tell a story. A memorable image. Thanks for sharing it.

I think they ALL have neckties! Isn't that interesting? Nice photo.

That's a fabulous photo, all the better when I enlarged it! Despite being in clothes that look like the men have been doing manual labor, they are all wearing ties! (Okay, so I'm just now reading comments and notice that everyone else has commented on the ties, too. Ha ha.) I wish you had more information - location, date, etc. Thanks for sharing.

Always fascinating to see blue collar workers still wearing ties with their work clothes.

I agree with Kat, those hands are his tools.

Such a familiar group in such familiar outfits. though could be a group of my ancestors, who knows they may be. Great photo.

Snaps like these, unlike the staged studio photos of the same period, always have a special timeless quality that is more art than history.
