Friends

It's the weekend again and this week's Sepia Saturday has a doggy theme. This is one of the first photographs I bought way back in the late 1960s and it's just as appealing to me today as it was then.
The photographer was G. Norman Taylor, East Oxford Studio, 186 Cowley Road, Oxford and written on the reverse is Yockney, 71 St Marys Road. I suspect this lovely young lady is Constance Jessie Yockney born in Oxford in 1891.

You can find lots more canines and their owners over at Sepia Saturday.

A lovely picture indeed, but the girl almost looks like she is leaning on the dog. But he has no worries and can support her.

Both subjects look very pleased with themselves, and I like the girl’s relaxed pose.

I agree, and the dog looks right in the camera, like he knows what he's doing, he's in control.

That's a cute picture, but I kind of wonder why the dog is at arm's length.

Constance is cute as a button -- love the pose. And the doggie seems quite alert.

The distance between the two may be due to the bench the dog is on. Also in the enlarged vie it appears the dog is wet.

What a fun photo. the girl looks amused. The dog appears to me to have fairly large feet, making me wonder if it's still a puppy with a bit of growing to do.

Too cute ... the girl looks so happy and the dog looks rather ticked off.

Thanks for sharing this photo with us.
