I'm going with an elegant outfit theme for this week's
Sepia Saturday. The photograph is dated 1904 and cost me the princely sum of 15p several years ago. I don't know the identity of the subject but I'm deeply impressed by both her posture and her outfit, particularly that gorgeous feather-trimmed fur hat.
On the reverse: Frau Sophie Rumbler, Atelier fur moderne kunstlerische Photographie.
Wiesbaden, Wilhelmstrasse 14. Fernsprecher 2135. The date, December 1904, is hand written.

Eine gnädige Fräulein, no doubt. A priceless picture.
I see why you chose this photograph. When I enlarged it, everything was just perfect. Her face, hair, hat and dress. Thanks for sharing it with us.

She does look elegant and beautiful. I would have hated to wear the corset and high collar she is wearing though.
What beautiful detailing on that dress. I wonder what kind of fur coat that was -- it has little tails like fringe.
What lovely photograph, especially when it's enlarged. Her dress was so detailed and her hair styled perfectly even with the hat. Just beautiful!
Indeed an elegant lady, proud of her fashionable attire. I like seeing these subtle differences in national styles. I don't think fur was as common in Britain, for instance.
I'm always stunned by the detail work in these old dresses. Imagine buying something like that today.
Very elegant, almost regal.
