Footballers

For the next three weeks, Sepia Saturday is being sporty for the Olympic Games.
This week I'm going with my first sporting love, football. I like the image partly for the serious young men and partly for the odd rustic twiggery going on in the background. This is Brandon & Wolston Football Club photographed by William Tallis, 2 King Street, Sparkbrook, Birmingham.

More sports and games over at Sepia Saturday

That is an interesting background! Great picture!

Great photo. What is particularly interesting is that a couple of them seem to be wearing neck scarves - what today are called snoods I believe. They are supposed to be thoroughly modern. Little changes.

They looklike a bunch of bruisers to me.

What are the ages of these guys? The one in front holding the ball looks like a baby compared to some in the back.

I love the old sporting photos. Look at those uniforms! I would have thought that those laces would have been annoying!
